As many of you know I am all about the cake. Cake is fitting for pretty much any occasion to me. Any excuse and I’ll make one, but my decoration skills leave something to be desired. With Valentine’s Day coming up I thought I might make some baked goods for Matt. Then bakerdays got in touch with me to see if I’d like to sample some of their cake by post. How could I refuse?! A perfect early Valentine’s Day present for Matt – lucky man!
bakerdays is a company that offers personalised celebration cakes. There are a range of recipes and sizes and they are available for delivery 6 days a week. Plus if you order before 2pm, bakerdays can deliver the very next day. Sounds good, eh? The 5” letterbox cake is the ‘baby’ of the bakerdays family and it fits perfectly through your letterbox so you can surprise anyone with a delicious personalised gift. Perfect for Valentine’s Day, birthdays, or any special occasion!
All of the cakes are ordered online and the website is really user friendly. Simply select the occasion you want the cake for. Then look through the range of designs and flavours to choose from. If you want your cake personalising then you simply add the wording you would like. You can also upload photos too. Simple!
The letterbox cake arrives through the post in a small box. The cake comes in a smart tin and I was also surprised to receive a greetings card and a small packet of love hearts too, presumably because of the Valentine’s Day theme.
The letterbox cake will stay fresh for 14 days. Ours came sealed in a plastic bag with a clever tab to pull to get it out of the tin without damaging it. I chose a chocolate cake with a cute penguin design and personalised the message at the bottom. Falling through the letterbox didn’t damage it one bit and it looked just as it did online. Then of course it was the taste test!
Well, Matt was happy! The cake was a really rich chocolate cake, lovely and moist, with chunks of chocolate chips in it. It was really fresh and went down very with a cup of tea whilst we had five minutes piece whilst Miss Belle slept. I just wished it was bigger so we could have had more – but the whole point is that it’s cake by post and for it to fit through the letterbox.
Your chance to win cake by post!
The lovely people over at bakerdays are offering one of my readers a personalised vanilla 5″ letterbox cake in any design you like from their website.
